NICU Design Standards Available on the FGI Website

To widen the availability of the Recommended Standards for Newborn ICU Design, the ninth edition is now available for download from the FGI website. Updated periodically by the Consensus Committee on Recommended Design Standards for Advanced Neonatal Care, this document–first published in 1992–provides basic standards for design of NICUs.

Portions of the Recommended Standards have been incorporated into the FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals, the American Academy of Pediatrics/American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ Guidelines for Perinatal Care, and standards documents in several other countries.
