Designing End-of-Life Care Settings for Quality of Life is shared by researchers at Cornell University. This report presents straightforward design guidance with an examination of four primary built environment design elements that profoundly influence end-of-life care settings. The research was supported by the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health and other organizations.

Design Guide for Long Term Care Homes offers designers guidance for creating personal care homes for elders, particularly those with cognitive challenges. Author Robert Wrublowsky aims to help designers provide spaces that encourage socialization, offer easier navigation, and support better cognitive function. Use of the small household model to create environments in which elders can live out their later years with purpose and fulfillment is exemplified in six short case studies.
